About Me

You have the right to be properly represented!!!!

My name is W. George Conroy and I started in the Oil and Gas Industry in 1987 and I and my former staff have met with tens of thousands of landowners and 99.9% resulted in excellent solutions being found. From the very beginning I worked with Landowners in a proper and respectable manner and have ALWAYS pursued “win win” solutions. My staff and I were prepared and ready to answer questions and always followed the rules.

NOW I am working directly for Landowners.

I am returning to the industry because I can help to create proactive surface solutions which I always enjoyed. I like being on the road and I like working with Landowners and I have staff and tools to help you to be properly represented.

What can I do

And it is at no cost to you.

My contacts in Industry welcome and support my efforts as they too are seeking fair and equitable solutions and often the folks sent to achieve this are underqualified.

I work for you!!!!!!

I know the Industry and I know Landowners; I have worked for Petroleum Engineers for decades only stopping 2 years ago. I miss the Oil and Gas Industry.

I am an old school, blunt, direct problem solver and I have the technical tools and staff (map makers & engineers) able to professionally and proactively solve any issue.

I understand Industry, I created positive changes in Industry, and I have many contacts at the AER and in Industry.

You can read more about me by visiting my Linked in or read more about me on my Conroy Hockey website to see a bit about my character.

I am the company owner and lead problem solver; I am building and will be adding more senior and learned problem solvers.

The following is my professional background that is relevant to me being an excellent resource for Landowners.

I have also served on several CAPP committees, attended several CAPL Landman Conferences and have attended and presented technology at Conferences on Emergency Response and Road Use Management. I am an innovator and have changed how industry does Emergency Response with my expertise in GPS and GIS.

I am well versed in:

  • 01

Directive 56 – Energy Development Applications and Schedules (Public Consultation) My company, Proactive Surface Solutions.

  • 02

Directive 60 – Upstream Petroleum Industry Flaring, Incinerating, and Venting My company The Flare Notice Team

  • 03

Directive 71 – Emergency Preparedness and Response. My company: Proactive Surface Solutions.

  • 04

Directive 79 – Surface Development in Proximity to Abandoned Wells. My Company; The Frac Notice Team

My Experience

Oil & Gas

First Oil & Gas job

July 1987, Mineral/Surface Landman, Cabre Exploration. In 1988 I further obtained my Surace Land Agent license (since expired) I was both a mineral and surface landman and worked directly with Landowners obtaining both Surface and Freehold Mineral Land agreements.

More Oil & Gas jobs

  • In 1989 I worked for what is now known as IFS and was a technical innovator there also back when we used phone modems (yikes)
  • In 1990 opened up an office in Grande Prairie for Canadian Land Masters, a surface land consultation company.
  • In 1992 worked for Barry Fox Sheda Wireline.
  • In 1994 worked for Jack Evans KEG Consulting as a Surface Land Agent.
  • In 1997, became a Surface Land Consultant for Numac Energy working for a Steve Mychasik (since passed but he was an excellent senior surface Land Manager).
  • In 1999, I started and built Proactive Surface Solutions, a company that focused on Road Use Management (I was the only company doing this) then we morphed into Emergency Response Planning. We had 4 Field Techs who met with and managed thousands of families with respect to Sour Wells and Pipelines and Flare notifications.
    • The name Proactive Surface Solutions was very important name to me it meant I believe in every scenario there exists a “win win” solution, a proactive solution that benefits all who are involved in projects.
    • We developed and employed several technologies that assisted us in doing the job better for all involved.
    • Developed several supporting software’s.
  • In 2006 started Conroy Hockey.
  • In 2007 worked for Cenovus (got fired from there for pointing out that they were breaking the law) that’s important to know.
  • In 2009 worked for Universal Surveys a surveying and mapping company.
  • In 2010 worked as an inhouse Surface Land Consultant for Bellemont Explorations
  • In 2013 started and built, The Frac Notice Team and focused on Hydraulic Fracturing Notifications.
  • In 2020 I also worked as a Freehold Landman Consultant selling the properties for them.
  • In 2024 started Landowners Landman. I have a broad range of knowledge in the Oil industry.

I am an objective, fair, learned man who has always stood up for Landowners. In the past I have lost Clients for my objectivity and have twice been blackballed by the actual Industry I worked for again because I choose to deal with groups proactively.

Doing the RIGHT THING has always been first and foremost for me and my staff.

I still have many contacts in the Oil l and Gas Industry and believe that meeting in person and “boots on the ground” are the BEST ways to resolve conflicts. MY handshake is my word but we are going to document things anyways 😊.

I currently live in the country in Madden, Alberta and I have always enjoyed collaborating with Landowners with a few notable exceptions.

As a final note:

I have not received a check from Industry in over 2 years. I have no contracted relationships with Industry.
